Renault Duster Earns 5-Star BNCAP Safety Rating Ahead of India Comeback

Renault India has announced that the all-new Renault Duster has secured a coveted 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering world-class safety standards and marking a significant milestone ahead of the SUV’s highly anticipated return to the Indian market.
The achievement highlights Renault’s focus on making advanced safety technologies accessible across its product lineup. The new Duster demonstrated impressive performance in both adult and child occupant protection tests conducted by BNCAP.
The SUV scored 30.49 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection, placing it among the safest vehicles in its segment.
The certification is based on evaluations of the EVOLUTION (Turbo 160 MT), TECHNO (Turbo 160 DCT), and ICONIC (Turbo 160 MT) variants. Renault confirmed that the 5-star safety rating applies across the entire Duster range, ensuring customers receive the same high level of protection regardless of the variant they choose.
According to the company, the new Duster was engineered from the outset to meet stringent 5-star safety targets. Built on Renault’s robust RGMP platform, the SUV features enhanced structural integrity designed to provide consistent occupant protection across a variety of crash scenarios.
Beyond safety, the all-new Duster continues to uphold its reputation for balanced driving dynamics, ride comfort, and handling stability. Renault says the latest BNCAP certification complements the SUV’s established strengths, creating a package that combines driving confidence with independently verified safety performance.
The achievement also aligns with Renault Group’s global Human First Program, an initiative that integrates safety considerations throughout the vehicle design, engineering, and validation process.
